Where The Crayons Go

Our crayons continue to traverse the globe, as they now head to Uganda!

Working with members of two incredible organizations, Youth Sport Uganda and Charlenes Project, we’re ensuring that new and gently-used crayons from American restaurants will be distributed to hundreds of children in Uganda.

Our first shipment of 10,100 crayons, weighing approx. 115 lbs!, will arrive in Uganda by the end of May 2015.  We’re so pleased to have been involved with Youth Sport Uganda and Charlenes Project to help make this happen.

We are thrilled to add students in Morocco to our growing list of recipients!

Back in September 2013, we added our first village, and have been adding more ever since!  Thanks so much to the Peace Corps volunteers in Morocco, who have given us the opportunity to achieve one of our dreams of sending these crayons to children on the other side of the world!

Below are just some of the areas in Morocco where America’s crayons are being enjoyed by kids of all ages, for both recreational and educational purposes:

Jemaa Shaim

Bni Tajit

These crayons will be used by children of all ages, in a variety of ways, from preschool programs to activities for teens.  The Peace Corps volunteers who work in these villages will be using the crayons to help teach English, to make schoolwork more engaging, and to empower the children through work that encourages the exploration of identity, self-expression and creativity.

Two amazing 8th grade volunteers from American Martyrs School in Manhattan Beach, California have helped bring No Crayon Left Behind to the West Coast and Mexico:

St. Joseph School, Hawthorne, CA

Covenant House, Los Angeles

An orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico

Community Center, Tijuana, Mexico

After being contacted by the Community Services Coordinator for the Police Department of Huntersville, North Carolina, we were able to provide over 2000 crayons, which will be used for community events in lower income areas around Huntersville, and to help provide comfort for children who unfortunately have to be at the Police Department as witnesses or victims of crimes.
