Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Exciting news from No Crayon Left Behind:

And the Numbers Are In!!!!

Between July 1st and Dec. 21st of 2013, we donated NEARLY 60,000 CRAYONS!!!!!! While keeping a running total of all our collected and donated crayons has been a challenge, and was certainly more difficult in our first year, we are thrilled with this latest statistic. Thanks to The Education Partnership and their fabulous volunteers, who help us account for all the crayons which we

We’re Spreading Out Across the State!

Our two newest restaurants help us make progress on our goal to one day consider the entire state of Pennsylvania No Crayon Left Behind territory! For this reason, we are even more excited than usual as we welcome Friendly’s of Camp Hill and TGI Friday’s of Mechanicsburg. And a tremendous debt of gratitude goes out to our newest volunteer, Letitia, whose involvement in our

Welcome to Monroeville’s Olive Garden!

Monroeville has been a great area for our program with so many supportive restaurants.  We are happy to announce that The Olive Garden has recently come on board, further expanding the awesome volume of crayons our fabulous volunteer, Amy, is able to collect. The Olive Garden is known by families everywhere, with child and budget friendly menus.  We are proud to call them one

The Homeless Children’s Education Fund is Awesome!

We were so glad to be able to provide three thousand crayons to this fantastic organization based in Pittsburgh’s strip district so they could distribute them to their after-school learning centers.  Enabling children who struggle with homelessness to pursue crucial educational opportunities is of benefit not only to the children themselves, but to their families and society in general. Supporting and empowering these kids

OUR CRAYONS ARE ADDING COLOR TO A SCHOOL IN MOROCCO!!

We were thrilled to hear that our first shipment of crayons arrived safely in Talsint, Morocco!  Peace Corps. volunteer Caitlin Stechschulte was kind enough to send photos of the children using their new crayons in their temporary classroom, while their school is being renovated. The lesson was about suns and moons and circles, and you can see how the children were using crayons to

WE’RE SENDING CRAYONS TO MOROCCO!!!

We are absolutely THRILLED to have finally achieved one of our long-term goals as an organization: the ability to send crayons overseas. Thanks to Peace Corps volunteer, Caitlin Stechschulte, and her super proactive mom, both of whom seized the opportunity to contact us, crayons that otherwise would have ended up in THE TRASH (!) will now end up in the hands of students at

We’ve Been Quiet But Busy!

Apologies for the infrequency of our updates! A lot’s been going on with us as we continue to grow rapidly. We now have close to 60 restaurants, and add new ones nearly every month.  Some exciting news happened as DuBois, PA became our newest territory, with the addition of a Red Lobster, Ruby Tuesday (our first of this great restaurant chain!), and possibly the

We Made the Pittsburgh Trib!

Catch a great blurb about us in the Pittsburgh Tribune’s online and print editions. Thanks to writer Laurie Rees for generously granting us that paragraph even as she covered the incredible Mother’s Day fundraising event held a few weeks back at Generoasta Coffee, in Wexford. And if you haven’t yet visited Generoasta and live in the area, you’re missing out. Great coffee, and an

WE’VE TURNED 50!!

Well, not exactly. But we’ve reached the amazing milestone of having over 50 restaurants on board with our program! Thanks must be given to our two newest King’s Family Restaurants, one in Neville Township and the other in Monroeville, for pushing us past the fifty line. Though our ability to distribute the decals has been a bit slow, know that soon enough you’ll be

2 More Eat’N Parks Join Our Program!

Everyone loves Eat’N Park, especially kids, so it comes as no surprise that they are quickly becoming one of our most involved restaurant chains! We are so happy to welcome the Eat’N Park restaurants located in McKees Rocks (making it our first participating restaurant in that area!) and Banksville Road in Pittsburgh. By the end of the month, we hope to have at least
